General Studio Guidelines

Health

Take precautions prior to arriving--do not come if you are sick or having COVID-like symptoms.  

Masking is currently optional. If you are wearing a mask I will mirror you.

Sanitation

Towels and disinfectant are provided for clients to clean the equipment and accessories used during your session.

Renters should spray down surfaces touched and mop the floor. There is a dry mop and swiffer available in the closet depending on what is required.

Tidying

Please return items used during your session.

Renters should return the space to its previous condition, preparing the space for the next person’s usage.

Amenities

The bathroom is located in the basement of the main house for renter and client use. Please be respectful of the tenant’s home and remember to lock the basement door after use.

For Clients

Session Length

Sessions are either 50 or 80 minutes. This ten minute space between bookings allows for clean-up time, any space re-arrangement needed, scheduling, and taking care of payment. I love working with folks and can tend to go over, but please don’t expect this every time so that the next person is able to start their session punctually.

Late Cancels

It is standard practice for studios to utilize a 24-hour late cancellation fee. I have avoided this because we live in an unpredictable world and I feel that placing punitive measures around embodied practices is unhelpful. 

However, please do try to give me as much notice as possible.  You can cancel your session with me without any cancellation fee up to 4 hours before your session. Beyond that, you will be responsible for the charge of that session.

The silver lining: I am continually saving these fees towards the costs of additional equipment and improvement of the space! The Community Wishlist is where these fees get funneled, and I do give newsletter updates on what kinds of projects it helps to fund.

For Renters

Floor

Special care must be taken with the sprung dance flooring.  Clean rubber-sole shoes or leather/suede dance slippers only are permitted. Spiked heels, dark soles, and any shoe that might leave an indent or scuff on the floor is not permitted.

If you are bringing heavy equipment and/or equipment stands onto the floor, you must use a mat underneath to protect the floor. Take care that anything placed on the floor doesn’t puncture, indent or scuff the floor. There are a few rubber mats provided, but you may need to bring additional padding.

Closing Up

Clean the space and leave it ready for the next person to use. Make sure to close the curtains, secure and lock all doors, turn off all equipment and lights, and return key to the lockbox.

Renter Amenities

  • Bluetooth-equipped stereo, also available from the computer or with a jack

  • Wifi Access

  • LED Gotox light with shadow box and light diffuser (does not live in the space so please notify me if wanting to use)

  • Ballet barre

  • Disco ball

  • Yoga mats, foam rollers, therabands/tubes, and balls are ok to use

  • Main house downstairs restroom

Not for Renter Use

  • The theater lights and connected lightboard require a tutorial before use.

  • Pilates Equipment and Pilates springs/accessories not listed above are not available for renters. Please do not move, step on, or place items on them.
